Clarence Leon Hanna-Williamson

August 31, 1941 — November 18, 2018

Nassau

Clarence Leon Fish Hanna-Williamson Age 62 Years of #8 Newbold Street,
completed his final job at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday, November 18, 2018.

He was one of two twins born to Mike Elisha Williamson and Alvilda Lucitha Hanna,
born at Spring Point Acklins, the Bahamas on Sunday, August 31, 1941. Clarence received
his early education at the All Age School in Acklins.

At the age of thirteen, Clarence left the Island of Acklins along with his mother and twin
sister for Nassau in order to find employment. While in Nassau, this industrious young
man worked various jobs hoping to prove himself a good bread winner.

He left Nassau for Florida in the United States where he worked on the Contract as a
fruits and vegetable laborer.

On his return to Nassau, Clarence found employment at numerous Companies.
He later returned to the United States where he remained for a long time. During this
time, he became proficient as an underwater welder.

Clarence returned to Nassau and found employment working with the ferry and glass
bottom boats transporting tourist to and from our many cays. It was during this time
that he got the nickname "Fish" which he was called more than his birth name.

As time went on, his health began to fail. He started having problems with his legs
which eventually led to both legs being amputated on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

He would often talk about the person he used to be, and confessed that he was glad
that he had changed his life. For him, being confined to a wheelchair was a blessing in disguise.

On Sunday, November 18, 2018 his eldest brother Oral, as he usually did twice a day
went to take him his meal. He knocked on the door and no response came back, so he
got the spare key that was given to him by Clarence. He opened the door only to find
him lying on the floor in a semi-conscious state. An ambulance was called and on arrival
took Clarence, accompanied by his daughter Maria and granddaughter Redanyah to the
Emergency Room where he succumbed a short time later.
