Walter Mckinney

September 7, 1953 — August 21, 2015

Tyler Street North, Chippingham

Walter "Ralish" McKinney Age 61 Years of #12 Biscuit Court, off Sandilands Village Road
designed his last road and drafted his final bridge at his residence on Friday, August 21, 2015.

He was born at Pirates Well, Mayaguana, The Bahamas on Monday, September 07, 1953.
He was the first child of Hayward Alfred and Marietta Louise Charlton-McKniiey.

Walter began his education at the Pirates Well All Age School.  The family relocated to Nassau
where he continued his education at Southern Junior and graduated from Highbury High Senior School.

Most of the young men Walter's age seek employment after graduation, but Walter being such an
ambitious young man went on to further his education at the C. R. Walker Technical School.
The sky was always the limit for Walter, even graduating from a Technical school was not enough.
He went on to further his education in Houston Texas at Prairie View A & M University,
where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.

Graduating with such high achievements, Walter was offered a Job at the Texas Highway Department,
where he worked for sixteen years. With his top management positions, Walter was instrumental in
designing the Western portion of Interstate 10 in Houston Texas and Highway 290, which extends
from Houston Texas to Austin Texas. His love for his Bahamas brought him home, at least three or
more times a year.

This love for his country prompted him to return home in 1985, where he began working at the
Department of Public Works until to his demise.

In 1986, Walter met and fell in love with Norma Hanna, they were united in Holy Matrimony on
Saturday, October 14, 1989.
