Veronica Louise Hall-Hamilton

August 23, 1945 — July 22, 2019

Nassau

Veronica Louise Hall-Hamilton Age 73 Years of #17-A Fifth Street, Coconut Grove completed her
earthly walk of this life, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, July 22, 2019.

Thursday, August 23, 1945 in the beautiful city of Nassau, proud parents the late Charles Carlton and
Francis Louise Hall, after many years of marriage welcomed the birth of their first child. This precious
gem was given the name Veronica Louise.

"Ronnie" as she was affectionately called was christened in the Historic Bethel Baptist Church. Two
years and eleven months following her birth, Shirley was born making the Hall household complete
with their two little angels.

During her early years, her parents relocated to Grand Bahama for a few years. She obtained her early
education at Pineridge All Age School Grand Bahama and Southern Jr. and Sr. High Schools in Nassau.

Upon leaving school in 1959, Ronnie gained employment as a Clerk at Brown's Convenience Store, owned
by her late Pastor Reverend Dr. H. W. Brown. Shortly thereafter, she joined her mother on staff at in the
Laundry Department at Balmoral Hotel.

Ronnie grew into a beautiful young lady. She was very quiet and homely; however, she enjoyed singing and
listening to music. The only time you heard her was as she sang while cleaning her parent's house. She
mastered the art of clothes ironing and was known in the neighborhood as the best.

In February 1963, she met and fell in love with the late Thomas Hamilton. That love affair blossomed quickly
and on Monday, May 06, 1963 they were joined in holy matrimony. She proudly wore her crown as a housewife
and mother as she cared deeply for her family. Together with her husband, they instilled principles in their
children that today have proven to be successful.

Following the birth of her last child, Ronnie decided to return to work and naturally gravitated to what she loved.
In 1977, she became employed at New Oriental Laundry, Shirley Street. She worked as a presser at many of the
different locations and over the years, gained many friends. She was a humble woman and loved by all. She was a
dedicated hard worker, who understood that delivering quality service was not an option. She always wanted the
best for her family and knew that little by little, step by step she would achieve whatever she put her mind to.
She often said "It does not matter what you earn but how you spend it". It was not easy but she made it happen.

In 1992, she said goodbye to Oriental Laundry and went to work part time in the laundry department at the
Sheraton Grand Hotel for three years. In 1995, she entered into what would be her final employment as a
housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. David Johnstone. She took pleasure in working for the Johnstone's and always
boast that they were more to her than her employers. She loved them ever opportunity she had she would tell
folks how they treated her with love and respect as if she was their mother. She enjoyed taking care of their
sons and even after she retired in February 2011, she visited their home especially to spend time with the
children. They had a pet name for her and never forgot to tell her "Yeye, we love you".

Persuaded by the late Maryann Mackey in 1979, Ronnie joined Curfew Temple #816 of The Improved
Benevolence Protected Order of Elks. She was faithful to that organization and served willingly as a member
of the Nurses Unit. In 1980, she joined Modern Free and Accepted Masons, Order of Eastern Stars. Through
consistent toiling her achievements were many and deservingly was met with numerous awards such as Worthy
Matron of Queen Esther Chapter.

Ronnie loved travelling and looked forward to her annual trips with her church, lodge and family. For many years
she travelled to Grand Bahama to join her cousin the late Reverend Nelson Forbes and his family on their annual
vacation to the United States. She was always ready to travel and very seldom missed an opportunity to join Shirley
and her late brother-in-law Bernard on many cruises.

She enjoyed life and from her 60th birthday and beyond, she celebrated herself as she thank God for another
year. She prayed so much for God to allow her to see her 70th birthday. She was oh so happy on that day.

Ronnie loved her church which she attended her entire life. She was a faithful member of the Willing Workers,
Senior Choir and Senior Saints. She looked forward to Tuesday's senior saints' service and attended them all.
Even after her mobility became affected she did her best to attend as many of the Tuesday services which kept
her going and gave her something to talk about the entire week. She loved God and faithfully attended until her
health made it difficult.

In November 2016 while vacationing on a cruise with her daughters Wendy and Marcel, Ronnie experienced a
bad blister on her left foot. Being diabetic, this eventually led to the amputation of her left leg in early 2017.

As time went by Ronnie experienced other challenges with her health and was admitted to hospital a few times.
She always comforted herself with her favorite scripture, Psalms 27, as she knew that her God was her light and
her salvation. She spent her last days welcoming family and friends who came to visit with her. One of her latest
and fondest conversations was that just this past June was how blessed she felt when a team from Bethel led by
Reverend Hutcheson came to visit her. She was so elated, and could not stop talking about the good fellowship
they enjoyed and how much they sang. Later that day she had a double blessing as Sis. Maxine Munroe, Sister
Kayann Obrien and others from Modern Free Mason's visited and again they sang with her the great songs of Zion.

On Saturday, July 20, 2019 Ronnie's mannerism didn't appear as usual. She told Net (her devout daughter and
caregiver) that she was tired and only wanted to lie down. She hardly spoke that day and whenever she did her
words were "Oh Lord". Later that evening she admitted to hospital. At 8:10 am on Monday, July 22, 2019 she
peacefully answered the call of her Saviour who ushered her from time into eternity.
