Thomas Benjamin McKinney Age 52 Years of Mount Tabor Drive, Pinewood Gardens
prepared his final meal and entered into eternal rest at his residence on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
He was born at Deep Creek Eleuthera, Bahamas on Tuesday, January 17, 1956.
Thomas attended Deep Creek All Age School. After leaving school he joined the
Cape Eleuthera Resort Family, where he worked as a Bar Tender.
He worked in the hospitality field for many years and his brilliant smile greeted everyone who passed his way.
After excelling in that industry, he moved onto another field. He joined the
Saunders Trucking family as an all-around man. He worked closely with
father and mother Saunders, and was considered a son.
He worked there for …………. years then he moved onto Bertha's go-go Ribs.
At Bertha's Thomas took charge. Again, he was an all-around man, doing everything.
He worked as driver, chef, catering organizer, and purchasing agent.
Thomas was always in high spirits, and his warm personality left an indelible
mark on all who came into contact with him. He was hard working, and despite his ailment,
he still came out and put his best foot forward.
Early last year, Thomas was hospitalized and diagnosed with cancer.
At that time the Doctor told him that he only had another 12 months to live.
But of course, Thomas beat the odds and surpassed those 12 months and
held on until the good Lord called him home.
Thomas was hospitalized again in May this year, and had a second surgery.
He tried his best to get up and about, but the pains got worse and worse.
Despite his darkest moments, he still had that brilliant smile on his face.
A week before his death, Thomas beat the odds and came to work.
He took charge and gave instructions to everyone.
