Sophia Olivia "Pippy" Greene Age 32 Years of #24 Pilgrim Avenue, off Boyd Road
complete her earthly walk of life at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, September 22, 2011.
She was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Sunday, March 18, 1979.
She was the first of eight children. At the age of five months, she was taken to Grand Bahama
where she was cared for by her loving aunt Helena.
At the age of five Sophia returned to Nassau where she attended Columbus Primary
and T. G. Glover Primary Schools. A 1997 Class of C. C. Sweeting graduate, Sophia seeks
employment securing a job at McDonald's where she spent a period of time.
Sophia was a very determine and independent young lady. She never ceases to amaze her family
and friends whom she loved dearly no matter what, Sophia fought the good fight.
Her role as a mother surpasses all other as Sasha was the apple of her eyes. As a daughter,
sister, aunty, cousin and friend she touched the lives of many she was loyal. As time went by,
she passed through other jobs such as Bargain City Service Station, City Market Food and
later Frank Hanna Cleaning Company. Tamika and Mario played a special part in Sophia's
life if her finger aches, their phone would ring. She looked forward to that Sunday dinner that
was special delivered by her brother Mario. Sophia's strength began to fail as her body became
tired due to her illness. In August her health began to take a toll on her as she was admitted to
the Princess Margaret Hospital where she spent 3 weeks.
She was released on Saturday, August 27, 2011 and had to be readmitted after suffering a seizure.
Sophia became weak and her frail body could take no more as her sister and her mother sat and
tried to keep her comfortable. On Wednesday, September 21, 2011 she indicated to her mother
that she was tired. Thursday, September 22, 2011 as her mother and her aunts visited her while
she lay there. Her mother could not bear to see her in that condition. It was then with tears in her
eyes she gave her a kiss and told her that she would leave her too rest.
