Ruby Ianthe "Mama" Seymour

January 1, 1919 — December 15, 1998

#07 fire Trail Close

Ruby Ianthe "Mama" Seymour Age 79 Years of #07 Fire Trail Close,
off Fire Trail Road passed away quietly at her daughter's residence,
#04 Inspiration Road, Imperial Park Sea Breeze Estates on Tuesday, December 15, 1998.

Mama was born at South Caicos, Turks and Caicos Islands on
Wednesday, January 01, 1919. She received her early education at the
Government Elementary School, under the tutelage of Mr. C. D. Powell.

After completing school, she gained employment with the Durham Family in South Caicos,
where she worked until she met and married the tall, dark and handsome Edward Clarence Seymour.
This union produced eight children, six daughters and two sons one of whom predeceased her.

Ruby loved her Lord, and was a very active member of St. George's Anglican Church,
South Caicos and never attended a service without her children.

Ruby migrated to the Bahamas in search of a higher education and a better way of life,
for herself and her children. Upon taking up residence in the Bahamas, she immediately
became a member of St. Agnes Anglican Church and later, she joined the family of
Holy Cross Parish Church, where she became a member of the A.C.W. and was active
up to the time she became ill in May of this year.

She was a woman of strong Christian morals, which she instilled in her children.
She was truly a woman of God and a loving and caring mother to her children,
grand and great grand children.

In May of this year, she became ill and as time passed, her condition worsened.
She then realized that she would not have much time with us and a few days before
she went to be with her Lord, she prayed aloud, Lord, I put everything into Your hands.
Bless all of my children; each and every one of them."
