Remilda Deal-Pinder

September 27, 1935 — December 5, 2001

Hatchet Bay

Remilda Deal-Pinder Age 66 Years of George Street, Hatchet Bay Eleuthera, the Bahamas
made her final catch and sowed her last seed, on Wednesday, December 05, 2001.

She was born on Friday, September 27, 1935, mom received her early education in Nassau,
where she lived in Kemp Road with her aunt and later moved to Hatchet Bay,
where she continued her education at the P. A. Gibson Primary School.
She worked on the Hatchet Bay Plantation Farm, the Hatchet Bay Yacht Club and cooked f
or the winter residence that came to the island.

Remilda met and captured the heart of Rev. Lewis Curtis Pinder. A memorable courtship
ensued which led to the joining of their hearts in holy matrimony on Monday, March 26, 1951.
This precious union was blessed with fifteen children.

Remilda worshiped at the Church of God of Prophecy in Hatchet Bay, where she gave her heart
to the Lord at a very early age; she later became a member of St. Stephen's Baptist Church,
where she became the Mother of the church, while her husband served as Pastor.
Remilda was a counselor to young wives and anyone who was in need of counseling.
Her favorite words were "leave it in the hands of the Lord and he will work it out".

She was affectionately called "Mom, Mother Pinder, My Wife" but mostly "Mom" by her children
and grand children and a host of adopted children in the community of Hatchet Bay and throughout the Bahamas.

She was a firm but affectionate and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all.
Family and visitors can attest to her warm and caring hospitality. She shared all she had with the needy,
she was a great baker and famous for her delicious bread, which have gone all over the world.

Farming and fishing were her favorite hobbies, she dedicated most of her time in her farm and
shared her farm produce with her neighbors, children and everyone that would come into contact
with her. She fed everyone that came within her house. Mom made sure her family was well taken
care of, she was a devoted and concern mother; she was one in a million, a woman of all seasons.
Her grandchildren will miss her, because she always left her farm before 12noon to be there
when they arrived for lunch. The meals she cooked were more than enough for her children and
others just in the event they needed to be fed.

Remilda was mother to the whole man. She ministered not only spiritually,
but also physically and emotionally as well.
