Police Corporal 78 Regina Edwina Dawkins-Pratt
Age 40 Years of Farm Road, Kool Acres completed her service
to her Country, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday, June 20, 2010.
She was born in Nassau, New Providence, the Bahamas on
Tuesday, September 02, 1969. "Gina", as she was affectionately called,
was the twelfth and last child. At the tender age of four her father died,
she along with her younger siblings was cared for by their mother and older siblings.
Regina obtained her early education at Stephen Dillet Primary School,
T. G. Glover Junior High and later at C. C. Sweeting High School.
She furthered her education at The College of The Bahamas and the
Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute.
She blossomed into a beautiful and no-nonsense woman. At the age of sixteen,
she met and hopelessly fell in love with a young gentleman, Edward,
whom she later married on Saturday, January 25, 1992. Their union was
blessed with three beautiful children, Krystale, Oshanna and Michelle Pratt.
This devoted wife, loving and firm mother, entered the Royal Bahamas Police Force
in August 1992 as a Traffic Warden and enlisted into Police Training on
Monday, May 04, 1998. Upon her graduation on Friday, October 16, 1998
she was awarded with the Baton of Honor. Along that journey she made
numerous friends and lasting relationships. She served with a good heart,
strong mind and spirit.
Regina was lovingly known in her family as the writer, with her vast
knowledge and love for precision and details. She brought everyone
together on every possible occasion to keep the family in good spirits.
"Gina", although the last child was like a mother to all her nieces,
nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and all who came into contact with
her and they all respected her. She never held back, always spoke her mind
and in everything that she did was done with the utmost perfection.
She has made her mark in each life she came into contact with and has
left us all with many happy memories.
