Nurse Karen Diane (Kay, Roses, My Kay) Smith-Pinder Age 42 Years passed from
this walk of life, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, March 19, 2001.
Karen was born in the picturesque settlement of Alice Town, Eleuthera,
Bahamas on Tuesday, September 23, 1958. She was the fifth of eleven
children and is (pre-deceased) by her father (Alfred Smith).
Karen received her early education, at the P. A. Gibson Primary School in Hatchet Bay, Eleuthera,
her secondary education at the Windermere High School in Savannahs Sound, Eleuthera.
Upon completion of high school, Karen relocated to Nassau and entered the nursing program
at the Ministry of Health Department of Nursing. In August of 1983, she graduated from the
program as a trained Clinical Nurse. She worked at the Princess Margaret Hospital and various
clinics in Nassau. Finally the Hatchet Bay Clinic, Eleuthera, Bahamas.
Karen had much love to offer and this prompted a desire to have a family.
This beautiful gem met and fell in love with her true love, Mr. Darren Pinder.
They were joined in matrimony on Saturday, July 09, 1988. This union was blessed,
with two beautiful girls.
She was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church, where she was involved in many church
functions, as the Sunday school, Youth Groups, Summer Champ, Christmas and Easter Programs
