Mary Arnita Nottage-Johnson Age 52 Years of Jack Fish Drive, Tarpum Bay Eleuthera
was called from labour to rest, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, July 24, 2008.
She was born at Tarpum Bay Eleuthera, The Bahamas on Sunday, April 08, 1956.
She was the third of nine children. She attended Tarpum Bay all age School.
Mary met and was shortly united in marriage to Charles Rueben Johnson on the Thursday, July 03, 1975.
Mary lived a quiet life but she enjoyed helping people. Mary was employed at
the Windermere Island Club for a short period. Later in life she became an
ambassador for her Island, working as a taxi cab driver and as a housekeeper for
Mr. Marty Erbaugh. During this time she met, cooked and cared for many visitors to our Island.
In November 2007 Mary became ill. Realizing her condition, she accepted
Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour, and began her walk with God.
She loved to listen to gospel music and hearing the word of God read to her
by her sister Veronica. Mary enjoyed the times spent with siblings, nieces and other relatives,
especially on Sundays when we gathered for reflections, prayers, praise and worship.
