Mary Elizabeth Johnson-Cleare Age 71 Years of Hatchet Bay Eleuthera, Bahamas
went home to be with the Lord at her residence on Thursday, January 01, 1998.
Mary was born on Saturday, March 06, 1926 in the tranquil and picturesque settlement
of Hatchet Bay, on the Island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. Lil May or Lil Mary as she was fondly called,
received her education at the Hatchet Bay Primary School, now called the P. A. Gibson All-age School.
She later met and married Cleophas Cleare Sr. This union was blessed with four children
one of whom has preceded her in death. Mary being the striving and hard-working woman
that she was, gained employment at the Harrisville Plantation.
She was also a very active member of St. Mark's Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Lodge.
Mary was a kind and loving person who turned no one away from her door.
