Lyndon Leo Rolle Age: 53 Years of Commonwealth Boulevard, Elizabeth Estates
served his final beverage at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, January 21, 2021.
He was born at Nassau, New Providence, the Bahamas on Tuesday, November 28, 1967.
Joy filled the hearts of the late John Henry Rolle and Vernamae Taylor-Andrews as they
welcomed a jovial baby boy. Growing up, everyone knew Lyndon by his middle name which
followed him throughout life as very few people, including him for many years,
did not know that his first name was in fact not Leo.
A gentleman and a scholar, Leo was quick whited and exceled during his formative years.
He was educated at the Columbus Primary, D. W. Davis Junior and R. M. Bailey Senior
High Schools before entering the corporate world in 1986.
As a young man, Leo knew the virtues of hard work and lived by the teaching that a man shall
eat by the sweat of his brow. In the late 80's, Leo sought gainful employment at the Atlantis
Paradise Island Resort & Casino and in 2018 at the Rosewood (Baha Mar) Hotel part-time
where he worked diligently up to the time of his demise. Leaders and colleagues alike, attest
of Leo's smooth disposition, cleanliness and willingness to go the extra mile on the job with
honesty and uncompromising integrity that were also displayed through his life. In a quest to
keep busy and continue to provide for his household, Leo operated a small tuck shop from his
home during the pandemic while on furlough by the hotels. This brought him lots of joy and
afforded him the opportunity to become an entrepreneur.
Leo's eye caught the attention of Marva Michelle McPhee whom he courted for nearly two decades.
On June 23rd 2007, in culmination of the loving relationship they shared and nurtured, the two
were joined in Holy Matrimony. Leo was a loving, kind, humorous husband and provider for his
wife whom he cherished and couldn't do without. A devoted woman, Marva honored her promise
to God by tending to all of Leo's needs and wants.
Leo was diagnosed with diabetes and high blood pressure from early adulthood and he managed
these illnesses to the best of his ability for over thirty years. A few years ago, Leo began dialysis
treatment in an attempt to arrest his ailing health. On Tuesday January 19th, Leo spent a quiet
afternoon as he normally did – at home on the porch laughing and talking with family before
retiring for the evening with a bowl of Maggy's dumpling soup. It was in the wee hours of
Wednesday morning that his wife discovered him in bed gasping for air when he was transported
to the hospital. On Thursday January 21st, Leo's condition worsened and he was transferred to the
ICU where he slipped quietly into eternity while undergoing his routine dialysis treatment.
May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory!
