Louisanne Susan "Mami/Tezan" Yacinth

January 28, 1953 — July 13, 2016

Nassau

Louisanne Susan "Mami/Tezan" Yacinth Age 63 Years of #8 Kiki Street,
off Farrington Road and formerly of #28 Dean's Street, completed her earthly walk of life at
her daughter's residence on Wednesday July 13, 2016.

She was born on Wednesday, January 28, 1953 at Cape Haiti. In the early 70s Luzanne came to
the Bahamas in search of a better life. Luzanne worked as a housekeeper for a while,
she soon realized that she was not cut out to be a housekeeing, so she started her own
fruit and vegetable business. Luzanne would get up early in the wee hours in the morning
to head on dock to get the best deals from the mail boats and the produce exchange.

She started off selling these fruit and vegetable in a pan and straw basket going from house
to house in the Bain Town Community every evening. Carrying a Pan of fruits and Vegatable
on her head and a basket on her shoulders soon become very painful for Luzanne; after many
years of doing this she started to experience severe headaches and back pains. So on weekends
she would set up a stall in the front of the old City Market now Extra Value or Super Value.

She was asked to move from both store as they sell the same items, so Luzanne decide to get
a trolley, she could be seen pushing her trolley rain or shine from house to house just to  ensure
her customers had there fresh fruit, vegetable and crabs, and to feed and clothed her kids both here and Haiti.

She was soon given the house hold name MAMI and GRAMMY because she was a mother to all.
She came in contact with all and soon started to give her customer names as well all females were
call BIG BREAD and all males were call PRIME MINISTER.

She was everybody friend, if you didn't have the money she would credit you and you better
have her money the next time or else…….. But once you paid her trust was established.

Luzanne was Brave, Ambitious, Resilient, a Hard worker, Strong, a Giver and Friendly and Loyal,
she instilled Principal and Moral in her kids both here and Haiti.

Three years ago Luzanne took ill she was hospitalized for a few weeks upon release her daughter
Lauraine took her in to care for her. This was a task for them both because they were both set in
their own ways and were independent; however they worked it out and soon became inseparable.

In December 2015, Luzanne got worse, she started to give up she was taken to hospital where
she stayed for three days and was then send home. At home her condition worsened and she
was taken back to the hospital; she was admitted for three weeks, she looked good and spirit
lifted but this was short lived.

Her last words to her daughter Lauraine were THANK YOU. Days later On July 13, 2016
the good master called Louisanne "Luzanne" named and told her "come home my child
I'm ready for you no more pain no more suffering".
