Lloyd Leroy Major II Age 78 Years of #21 Hillary Avenue,
Freeport Grand, Bahama departed this life at the Rand Memorial Hospital,
Freeport Grand, Bahama on Saturday, February 13, 1999.
He was born at Turtle Cove, Long Island, The Bahamas on
Sunday, January 02, 1921. Lloyd attended the All-Age School
in Clarence Town. He left school at the tender age of fourteen.
But being the dutiful and industrious young man that he was,
he spent many years on the contract in the United States.
Upon his return to Long Island, he made a living by farming,
fishing and painting. Lloyd was humorous, hardworking and
a loving person, as many can attest to.
Lloyd was a regular attendee at Holy Cross Anglican Church
in Hamilton, Long Island until his departure for Freeport, Grand Bahama.
He always enjoyed the special occasions whenever his children were able to visit.
In 1940 Lloyd met Leona Turnquest of Deadman's Cay, Long Island, Bahamas and soon after,
they were joined in Holy Matrimony, on Tuesday, June 25, 1940 this union produce thirteen children.
