Lisa Monique Lavania Roberts Age 43 Years of #125 Dundas Drive,
Millennium Gardens complete her earthly walk of life, at the Princess
Margaret Hospital on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
She was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Friday, February 09, 1968.
Most of her childhood years were spent on Wulff Road and Jerome Avenue
where she grew up in the bosom of the Roberts clan. She later moved to
Millennium Gardens where she resided with her mother.
She was educated at St. Thomas Moore School and Aquinas College.
Upon graduating, she commenced employment in the government sector.
Lisa started her career at the Post Office where she was employed as an office clerk,
she then transferred to the Supreme Court where she was employed in the same capacity.
At the time of her death she was employed at the Office of the Attorney General as their receptionist.
Lisa was the youngest of four siblings. She was affectionately referred to by
her mother as "chief nurse" as she supported her mother through all of her adversities.
In particular, Lisa acquired this status for her dedication and professionalism
in taking care of her mum during her critical heart surgery. She took charge
when it came to seeing to doctor's appointments and administering her medication on time.
Lisa and her mother shared a special bond, they were not only mother and daughter
but her mother was her best friend. One did not operate without the other.
Lisa was her mother's right arm, they did everything together.
There are countless and valuable memories that they shared.
In particular the late-night conversations and the long weekend drives.
She was also her mother's biggest fan when it came to her cooking.
As a child her siblings remember her as being full of life, a person who loved life and her family.
As she grew up this did not change as she remained the jovial person that we all loved and cherished.
To her nieces and nephew (Antoinette Woodside, Anthony Woodside, Antonice Woodside,
Ashleigh Braynen and Bryttany Roberts) she was that person who would go above and beyond
to put a smile on their faces. She cherished them and this was something that she expressed
in more ways than one.
For persons who would have had the privilege to have known Lisa,
she was always a loving and radiant person. She always greeted you with a smile.
She was that person who would go that extra mile for her loved ones and anyone in need.
To all of her friends she made it known that her family, especially her mother, was her everything.
These were the people she held dearest to her heart.
Lisa was passionate about her church, Mount Tabor Full Gospel Baptist Church
and considered them to be a part of her extended family.
She spoke highly of Bishop Neil Ellis and his wife Ms. Patrice Ellis,
who she often referred to as her adopted parents.
Although we know that she is at peace and in a better place this is a loss that
has not only deeply touched the hearts of her family but it has immersed
in the hearts of all who knew her.
