Leanna Johnson "Titta" Moxey-Murray Age 96 Years
of #17 Bachelors Button and Beaumontia Avenue, Garden Hills #1
was called to a fuller life at her residence on Saturday, July 11, 2020.
Leanna was born at Mangrove Cay Andros, the Bahamas on Wednesday, January 16, 1924.
Affectionately known as Titta, she was the eldest of eight children. She received her early
education at Swain Public School, Burnt Rock, Mangrove Cay, Andros. Titta, gave birth to
two sons, who were unfortunately they were both still born.
Titta then move to Nassau, where she found work in the domestic field,
before migrating to Miami Florida. For about thirty years.
From six weeks old, until the day she died, Edith was her Baby.
Titta's health started to decline slowly first; Titta experienced heart complications,
second, she started to experience Arthritis, (which handicapped her mobility) third,
she slowly began to lose her vision and finally her hearing ability slowly declined.
Burdened with the covid19, Edith had to call the Emergency Line of The Royal Bahamas Police Force
to get permission to go on the road at about 6am morning and in the afternoon, to see to Titta's daily
hygiene and to ensure that she got her prescribed medications and her beloved hot coffee.
During this time, there were about eight police officers who became very familiar with Edith and here
purpose for being on the streets of Nassau, during the mandatory curfew and lockdown hours.
These officers gave me their ranks, names and time no hassle, (hats off to them).
