Police Corporal 253 Kendrick Leroy Farquharson, Sr.
Age 35 Years of Palmetto Point Eleuthera completed his service
to God and Country, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on
Saturday, March 10, 2007.
Born on Monday, December 20, 1971 in Nassau, New Providence,
the Bahamas. Kendrick or Farqhie, as he was affectionately called
received his early education at Palm Dale and Yellow Elder Primary,
H.O. Nash Jr., C.C. Sweeting Sr. and completed his last year of high
school at Colonial Hill School on Crooked Island where he graduated in 1989.
As a young child Kendrick was very intuitive, the moment he began
formulating sentences there was a need to know; the how, when, what
and why of everything. During bible study at home with his maternal
grandfather, he would puzzle everyone with his questions and insights–
His naturally sensitive, discerning and perceptive nature made him very
curios. Therefore, it was no surprise when he joined the Royal Bahamas
Police Force in 1990.
He remained in this noble line of work, becoming a 17 year veteran, which
afforded him the privilege of working in the following divisions: East Street
South Police Station, North Andros District, Quacko Street, Carmichael Road,
Detention Center, Crooked Island/Acklins District, Internal Security Division
and at the time of his death, Governor's Habour Police Station, Eleuthera District.
We remembered so vividly, the excitement and thrill felt when he had
risen above the rank of Constable and was promoted to Corporal.
Wedding bells filled the air on Saturday, July 17, 2004 when he was joined
in Holy Matrimony to the Bridgette "nee" Sands.
