Jelise Carmen Charlton

Jelise Carmen Charlton, Age 43 Years of Penny Bank Subdivision, 
off Soldier Road West, passed away on Thursday, August 02, 2001 at her residence.

Jelise was born at Abraham's Bay, Mayaguana Bahamas on 
Wednesday, October 09, 1957. She was the ninth child.

Jelise commenced her elementary education at Abraham's Bay All-Age School. 
In 1969 at the age of twelve, she left the rest of the family for Nassau and enrolled 
at the prestigious Queen's College, graduating in 1975.

In 1978 she joined the staff of the Nassau Guardian, as a typist for seven years. 
She joined the staff of Executive Printers Ltd. in 1984, as a computer typesetter 
and was later promoted to check Production Manageress. She later returned to 
Mayaguana, were she obtained employment on the office of Local Government in 1997.

She served as Secretary at Robinson Morris Chapel A.M.E. Church, 
were she was a member of the finance committee, the Choir and Sunday School Superintendent. 
She was awarded a plaque of distinction, on Sunday, May 04, 1997.
