James Adolphus "Jimmy" Isaacs I Age 68 Years of Governors Harbour Eleuthera,
The Bahamas went home to be with the Lord, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, April 09, 2007.
Jimmy was born at Governors Harbour Eleuthera, Bahamas on Saturday, September 17, 1938.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Edward Adolphus "Ned" Isaacs and Miss. Mary Christiana Pinder.
James began his primary education at the Governor's Harbour All Age School,
were he excelled in his studies, because of his desire for knowledge,
he enrolled in various correspondence courses.
He was employed at Pot Latch Club as a Bartender, The Naval Base as a Security Officer,
Supply Clerk, Shipping and receiving Clerk. He was also employed with the Department of Labour
as a Labour Officer and a Manager with the National Insurance Board. He was later employed
as an Insurance Underwriter with Belmont Insurance Agency, where he retired in 2000.
"Jimmy" as he was affectionately known was a sports fanatic and very enthusiastic
about his favorite professional sports teams and he shared this enthusiasm with everyone he knew.
He loved his New York Yankees and he was known island wide for his passion for the Yankees.
The Pittsburg Steelers was his favorite N.F.L. team and the Boston Celtics, his favorite N.B.A.
team, he also followed professional tennis matches via the television and played and coached locally.
In his youth he played and coached softball locally as well and was also a member of the
Eleuthera Softball federation, where he served faithfully for many years.
In 1971 James met an attractive young lady, Arlene Cynthia Farrington.
They courted for awhile and were joined in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, February 22, 1975.
They were blessed with six children, four daughters, one of whom preceded him in death and two sons.
"Jimmy" loved his God and his Church he was an active and devoted member of
St. Patrick's Anglican Parish Church, where he served as lay reader for many years.
He was also a member of the Anglican Church Men and Prayer Band.
He was an outgoing and very outspoken person and was involved in many civic organizations such as:
The Kiwanis Club of Eleuthera, The Bahamas Red Cross Society, The Health Association of Central Eleuthera.
He was also a Local Government Practitioner and Justice of the Peace.
The Radiance of this "Sapphire of A Gem" will always glow in the hearts of his:
