Herbert "Sir Herb" Kemp Age 70 Years Hatchet Bay Eleuthera, Bahamas
departed this life at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, March 28, 1997.
Herbert was born at Current Eleuthera, Bahamas on Tuesday, October 26, 1926.
This baby boy was handsome and charming and his kindly looks attracted the people of Current.
He grew up to be a quiet and gentle child. Later Herbert's parents decided to seek employment,
so they moved to Hatchet Bay with their children, including Herbert.
Herbert received his early education at the Hatchet Bay All-Age School,
now the P. A. Gibson All-Age School. After leaving school like all young men,
he went and sought employment. He was employed by the Harrisville Company,
he was a good farmer and loved farming.
Herbert lived a very quiet and simple life and was loved by the people of
Hatchet Bay and by whomever he came in contact. He was known for his
jokes he would always make you laugh, even if you didn't want to.
He was affectionately called "Sir Herb", by his friends and "Uncle Herb" by
his nephews and nieces.
He was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church, Sir Herb took part in
concerts in the various churches and was also invited to entertain at a
Revival Service on the Hatchet Bay Park, were he played on his harmonica.

Sixteen Nephews: Freddie, Michael, Walt, Valdo and Cladwell Farrington Jr., Pat and Thaddeus Paul, Kenneth,
Barry and Tiny Sands, Troy Hanna, Omar Grey, Al and Collins Kemp, James Isaacs Sr. and Collins Darville;
Twelve Nieces: Evangelist Madge Kemp-Hunt, Vernita Grey, Lydia Ferguson,
Evangelist Arlene Isaacs of Governors Harbour Eleuthera, Claudimae Farrington, Lynn Julioca, Hattie Alleyne,
Sandra of Freeport and Beverly Kemp, Lavern Woods and Brenda Pierre of Current;
Seven Grand Nephews: James Isaacs Jr., Datus, Darrius and Earl Haggin, Clyde Bethel,
Bernis Ranger Jr. and Donio Woods;
Eighteen Grand Nieces: Keit, Christine Sands, Louise Knowles, Sparky Grey, Silva Woods,
Bernadette Hanna, Jasmine and Jamasies Isaacs, Valderie and Sharline Kemp, Monique Rolle,
Earlene Haggin, Britt, Raquel, Tiffany and Keisha Ferguson and Decota Dean;
Three Grandsons-in-law: James Munroe, Sidney Brown and Eric Ernest;
Many other loving family and friends including: Valaria Kelly, Veronica McCardy,
Florence Scavella, Eddilee, Eric, Cheryl, Josephine and Vera Johnson, Mytis Farrington,
