Henry Almund Rolle

Henry Almund Rolle Age 75 Years of McQueen's Cat Island, The Bahamas 
passed away peacefully from his earthly sojourn and went to be with the Lord, 
at his residence surrounded by his wife and children on Saturday, August 25, 2012.

He was born at McQueen's Cat Island, The Bahamas on Wednesday, September 02, 1936. 
He was the baby boy of the family. He attended Devil's Point all age school 
along with his little sister Lydia. Upon leaving school, he moved to Nassau 
where he was employed by the Humane Society and BEC.

Like most men in those days, he left home and traveled to America where he worked on the contract.

He was a licensed Captain, he sailed countless yachts between the Bahamas and the United States. 
He was also the captain of the "Lady Dundas". He was a builder; he built numerous houses, i
n Hawks Nest and throughout Cat Island.

He had a passion for music, he loved good singing. His favorite songs were; 
"May I be ready to go" and "The dearest friend I ever had". In addition to that; 
he was often heard playing his harmonica and accordion.

In 1960 he met and fell in love with the beautiful Rosebell Daniels. 
After their short courtship he then married her. As we know his life 
was not perfect, like all of us he had he share of challenges. Nonetheless, 
he repented. Daily he was found reading his bible, his children and 
grandchildren asked him biblical questions and he was able to answer them. 
He also taught his children to live in the fear of the Lord.

In 2009 his health began to fail, he travelled to Nassau on numerous occasions 
for medical assistance. On Father's Day 2012, his health deteriorated and he was 
hospitalized for a short time. The doctors realized that they could not assist any 
longer as a result; he was released from him from the hospital. Throughout his 
infirmities he found comfort in his favorite scriptures they are; Psalms 27, 51, 91 and Luke 15.

On Monday, July 30, 2012, he returned to Cat Island where he celebrated his birthday for the final time.

Mother: Beatrice "Morgy" Armbrister-Rolle;

Two Daughters: Cynthia Simmons (Craig Sr.) and Mavis Rolle (Anthony);
Nine Grandsons: Craig Jr. and Shavaughn Simmons, Ashton, Anfernee, Garnet Jr.,
Kerrigton and Kayden Rolle, Rashad Black and Andrew Cash;
Seventeen Granddaughters: Anshanique Johnson (Chester), Cypria, Eureka, Sanchia, Danyelle, 
Cydesha, Britney, Kyrah, Sharan, Deneil, Ceshae, Davante and Danette Rolle, Shantia Brown (Garfield), 
Shaniesha Simmons, Tanaz Thurston and Lindura Cash;
Seven Great Grandchildren: Alisa, Chanae and Trinity Johnson, Leah Whitehead, 
Teran and Latario Simmons and Phillip Brown;
Two Sisters: Gelena Burrows and Lydia Greene;
Twenty-Two Nephews: Livingston Musgrove. Elkanah, Zephaniah, Rev. Archelaus, 
Oswald and Reginald Burrows, Rudolph, Joseph, Eucal, Fred, Kenneth, Amud, Leroy, 
Phillip, Lefred and Raymond Rolle, Edison Dawkins, Alfred, Wade, Timothy, Joel and Steven Greene;
Nineteen Nieces: Lucetta Burrows, Eunice Seymour, Idamae, Enith, Rachel, Sherry, Patricia, 
Veralean and Jeleta Rolle, Sharon and Yvette Greene, Linda Lloyd, Jennifer Zonicle, Eastermae Monitor, 
Elizabeth Roach, Kadylee and Shirleymae Dawkins, Esperlene and Lilabell;
Five Brothers-in-law: Alfred, Freeman, Beauford, Mack and Jeff Daniels;
