Harry Dewitt "D. V." Sturrup Jr.

Harry Dewitt "D. V." Sturrup Jr., age 38 years of #12 Lakeshore Road, 
Big Pond Subdivision Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas passed from this walk of life, 
at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, September 12, 2005.

Harry was born on Saturday, January 28, 1967 Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas. 
He was the eldest of four sons and was loved by his family.

D. V. as he was affectionately called, developed Rheumatic Fever at the age of nine months; 
he was later diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia and an enlarged heart and liver. 
His early childhood education began at Woodcock Primary, T. G. Glover Junior and 
C. C. Sweeting Senior High Schools. He also enrolled in the American High Adult Education 
Center in Miami, Florida while living with his sister.

Harry worked as a junior joiner in his father's business, a bus driver at the Center for the Disabled, 
Jones Security Company and later established his own window cleaning and tinting company, 
which he named in honour of his brother (Widmark Windows). Fourteen years ago, he became 
the proudest father and in fact, there were times when he behaved as though he was the only father in the world.

The Radiance of this "Garnet of a Gem" will always glow in the hearts of his:
