Genoa Glynis O’Brien-Powers Age 40 Years of Eton Avenue, off West Bay Street
Cable Beach, exchange this life for eternity at her residence on Friday, May 29, 2026.

She was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Wednesday, April 09, 1986.
She was a fighter from birth weighing in at only 2 ½ lbs, she struggled for survival and 
learnt to walk and talk at a very early age.

During the early stage of her life, she grew up and was raised primarily by her grandmother,
Una Bostwick and Aunts Denise and Erica.

She was extremely intelligent having excelled in her studies during her early education at 
Tambearly before moving onto to St. Augustine College.

After graduating in 2004 she extended her education by attending Gilford College in 
Greensboro North Carolina, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in forensic science.

She remained in the United States for many years after graduating from college where she met
Derek Powers Jr. whom she married in July 2020, when she later returned to the Bahamas.

She dabbled in modelling and commercials and loved to travel, having lived in Ghana and 
the Holy Land then travelling further spending time in India, Vietnam, and Japan.

She found peace in nature, near the ocean, and observing Gods small creations.
She was an angel and a saint.
She will be dearly missed.
