Eudora Marion Wilson-Williams Age 70 Years of #22 St. Martin Road Golden Gates No. 2
entered, prepared her final meal at the Princess Margaret Hospital, on Friday, January 04, 2008.
Darda was born at South Caicos Turks and Caicos Islands, on Thursday, March 11, 1937.
Dora's childhood years were filled with lots of love and warmth. As the baby sister,
she was showered with lots of love by all of her siblings, Marjorie ("Tit"), Oswald,
Thomas, John, Hugh, Earl, James and Hubert.
She often reminisced of the rich and exciting experiences enjoyed as a student at
the South Caicos All Age School. She fondly remembered the mischievous pranks
she and her fellow students played on their headmaster Rev. Peter Hall and the
invaluable insights on life shared by him and his assistant Head Teacher, Ms. Marjorie Basden. (cousin)
Upon completion of the South Caicos All Age School, Dora gave birth to her first child,
John and two years later her second child, Llewellyn. Shortly thereafter, she traveled
to the Bahamas to seek better employment due to the economic situation and the limited
opportunities for the advancement of young people in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Dora had the good fortune of working on the Islands of Inagua, Abaco, Grand Bahama and finally Nassau.
She spent most of her work life in the hotel industry and retired from the Crystal Palace Hotel in 1997.
After settling in Nassau for a while she met an industrious young man by the name of Richard Williams,
an electrical engineer by profession. This union produced four children.
Darda was a very generous, loving, kind, and compassionate person. She left a "legacy of love!"
She made such a wonderful impression upon everyone she came in contact with. Darda embraced
and loved on many that were rejected by there own families. Her house was the place for all to come
and receive a good meal, good advice and lots of laughs. Darda was an exceptional cook and made
many mouthwatering dishes, especially her famous "Crab Salad," which was enjoyed by all.
There was always more than enough Sunday dinner, just in case anyone stopped by!
She truly lived the words Jesus spoke in Matthew 25:35, "For I was hungry and you gave Me food;
I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in."
Darda loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour many years ago.
She was a faithful member of her church and volunteered with the Mercy Ministry.
Darda became seriously ill and was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital on August 4th, 2007.
She was released after three months, but on December 18, 2007 she was readmitted to the hospital
due to complications. On Friday, January 04, 2008 Darda quietly went home to be with her
Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
