Estella Maria "Stella" Curry-Butterfield Age 69 Years of #32 Isle Way, 
Davis Subdivision off Soldier Road West, was called to a fuller life at the
Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday, October 15, 2008.


Stella was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Saturday, February 04, 1939.
She received her early education at Our Lady's Catholic School on Deveaux Street Nassau, Bahamas.


She was first married to Wendal George Curry, who went missing on an airplane trip in 1967.
Later in life she met and married Anthony Ernest Butterfield in 1979.


Affectionately called "Stella", she was employed at Britannia Towers Hotel & Resort as a
Switchboard Operator where she remained for over 30 years until her retirement in 1998. 
An entrepreneur at heart, after retirement she opened her first enterprise,
"Stella's Dry Goods" selling women and children's clothing. Being a great cook, she then moved
on to open "Shar's Take Away" where she worked up until her passing.


Estella worshiped at Zion South Beach Baptist Church. She joined the Senior Choir in
September 1995 and was an active member up to her passing.


Estella is preceded in death by her:

Mother: Josephine Louise Knowles;

The Radiance of this "Amethyst of A Gem" will always glow in the hearts of her:

Three Sons: Keith, Vallance and Vincent Curry;
Two Daughters: Monique Neely and Lashar Gibson;
Nine Grandchildren: Kenesha, Makia, Alex and Andrew Curry, Michnique and Marissa Neely,
Shaquille Thurston, Kenneth III and Naimi Gibson;

Two Sons-in-law: Harrison Neely and Kenneth Gibson II;
Two Daughters-in-law: Marsha and Deserene Curry;
One Sister: Vernell Farrington;
One Brother-in-law: Louis Farrington Sr.;
Four Sisters-in-law: Helena and Mavis Butterfield, Vanria McNeil and Betty Knowles;
Her Best Friend: Shirley Delancy;
Ten Nephews: Michael, Ricardo, Reginald and Louis Farrington Jr., Dennison, Michael,
Thomas, Harrison Jr., Daniel Jr. and Ishmael Knowles;

Ten Nieces: Nurse Capucine Simmons, Michelle Major, Cynthia Saunders, Sonia Scott, Angela Romer,
Antoinette Farrington of New York, Joanna Knowles, Michelle and Louise Stubbs and Lucinda McQueen;

Seventeen Grand Nieces Including: Tamika Farrington-Philippe;
Many other Loving family and friends including: Leanna Moss, Bernadette and Sylvia Forbes,
Edith Cooper, Dorothy Butler, Sheila Grant, Vernon Thurston, James and Delores Curry, Sandra, Patsy,
Rev. Clarence and Rev. Dr. Sandra Knowles, Hollyann, Bernadette and Cecilia Farrington, Philman Young,
Smith Philippe, Sidney Simmons, Wilfred Major, Linden Scott, Jennifer Darling and their families,
The Curtis, Newbold, Gibson and Curry Families of Isle Way, the Zion South Beach Church family,
especially the Senior Choir, patrons of Shar's Take Away and The Malcolm Road area.


A loving wife, mother, sister, friend Estella will always be remembered for the kind,
patient faith-filled woman that she was.
