Erma Deidre Thompson

December 6, 1959 — May 5, 2013

Nassau, New Providence

Erma Deidre Thompson age 53 years of #94 Balfour Avenue West
completed her final walk of this life at The Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday, May 05, 2013.

She was born at Hatchet Bay Eleuthera, The Bahamas on Sunday, December 06, 1959.
Being her father's first born he named her after his mother.

Erma affectionately called "Mama" grew up in Hatchet Bay where she
did her formal education at Hatchet Bay All Age School where she was
well known and loved because she was friendly and out spoken. After
her completion she stayed in Hatchet Bay doing little odd and ends to
make life easy for her. Erma move to Nassau in 1978 determined to make
a better life, she seek work at Porky's Service Station and later on worked
on to Colony Club Resort where she was a Housekeeper. As the Resort
business slowed, she pursed employment with Leroy's Cleaning Company
and then Wemco Security. As she expanded her family, working the late night
shift were becoming hard for her to balance and be the wonderful, supporting
and loyal Mother. Erma took matters into her own hands and entered the world
of entrepreneur trade, she open her own Petty Shop at home which was wonderful
for all in the neighborhood as well as home. She knew her neighbors, and it was a
joy to have hot meals ready for her kids when they arrived from school.

On Wednesday, November 21, 2012 "Mama" went to the Doctor, where she
was advised to take some test to determine her state of health.  Mama being
a strong mined person, with her belief in God was satisfied with the knowledge
that "God heals all things" and if it was God's Will she would go on, decided to
not take any medication.

On Friday, May 03, 2013 when her daughter Crigteria arrived home from work,
her oldest son "Brisco" whom "Mama" took as her own son, ran outside in a frantic
stated saying that she was not breathing". When Crigteria arrived inside, she tried
to talk to her to get her to response, realizing that she unresponsive, she called the
ambulance. Erma was admitted in the hospital for observation, where her children
found out that her kidneys had fail. On Sunday, May 05, 2013 two days after been
admitted, the hospital called home to inform the family to come to the Hospital
immediately. As "Mama" would be parting this life of stress and sickness and
going to the Glory Land to be with her Lord.

As her loved ones gathered around her, her heavenly Father whispered in her
ears saying  "come home my child, time for you to rest".
