Erma Alladice Hutcheson-Hepburn

October 9, 1933 — June 9, 1998

Nassau

Erma Alladice Hutcheson-Hepburn Age 64 Years of #37 Wilson Tract Englerston
went home to be with the Lord, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Tuesday, June 09, 1998.

Erma was born on Monday, October 09, 1933 in the settlement of Hatchet Bay,
on the Island of Eleuthera, Bahamas. She was the last of ten children, born to the
late (Rev. Albert Ernest Sr. and Alma Brown-Hutcheson).

Erma was a beautiful child and was well protected and loved.
She was part of a large family of brothers and sisters, who regarded her as their baby sister.
She was very intelligent and at the early age of thirteen years, was appointed a pupil teacher
by her headmaster the Rev. P. A. Gibson. She succeeded her brother retired
Chief Inspector of Police Cardinal Hutcheson.

In 1950, a young handsome Wireless Operator was appointed to be in charge
of the Station at Alice Town. It did not take long, for this seventeen-year-old
beautiful girl and a twenty-one-year-old handsome young man to grow in love,
which resulted in marriage on Monday, September 11, 1950. This union was
blessed with seven lovely children, five boys and two girls. (Quintin) predeceased
her on Monday, December 09, 1996 which took a toll on her, but she soon regained her composure.
She can be considered the glue that kept the family together. Not only in her home,
but also the Hepburn, Hutcheson, Brown, Coakley and Dean Families.

Erma Alladice Hutcheson-Hepburn was a beautiful intellectual with a great sense of humor.
She loved poetry, Literature, History and showed a keen interest in the Political Development of her Country.
Sunday after Sunday, she presided over discussions and sometimes heated debates between
her two brothers, Rev. Dr. A. E. Jr. and Cardinal Hutcheson. They both looked forward to her
rulings and consequently, she was affectionately called "The Judge".

Finally, at a very early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour.
She was a worshipper at St. Agnes Anglican Church.

The Radiance of this "Opal of A Gem" will always glow in the hearts of her:
