Elodie Juliette Pintard-Wilson Age 68 Years of Winder Terrace,
Malcolm Allotment went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 04, 1997
at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

Elodie, was born on Monday, June 18, 1928 at Duncan Town
Ragged Island, Bahamas. She was the second child and first daughter.
She was educated at the Ragged Island All-Age School. At the age of 13
her mother died and she along with her grandmother, assumed the
responsibility of her six siblings.

She played the organ at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ragged Island.
She later moved to New Providence, where her home was always open
to relatives who can to town.

Elodie was joined in Holy Matrimony to Bernard Wilson on
Sunday, October 19, 1952. This union produced nine children,
three of whom have preceded her in death. Elodie was very
close to her father, she cared for him by preparing his meals
and clothes for his family islands trips, until his death in 1978.

Elodie was an industrious person, always looking for a way to
provide for her family. She worked as a self-employed dressmaker
and operated a petty grocery store. She later worked at Howard
Johnson and Kentucky Restaurants.

In 1967, her eldest daughter Celestine brought home some
straw craft that she was learning to make at school. Elodie
took the idea and along with the advice and guidance of her
neighbour, Mrs. Maggie Black, she entered the straw industry,
in which she worked up to the day of her death.

Eldoie represented the Bahamas at several Goombay Festivals,
in Coconut Grove and Orlando Florida. All of her children
acquired a bit of her industriousness and are functional person
in society. Three of her daughters, Celestine, Bernadette and
Michelle are teachers; Michael works at Queen's College in
charge of maintainence; Anita and Walter are self-employed.

Eldoie was always a joval person who loved her grandchildren
