Elfreda Ferguson

June 19, 1933 — May 25, 2017

Nassau, New Providence

Elfreda Ferguson Age 83 years of #43 Lumumba Lane West completed her earthly
walk of this life at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

She was born on Monday, June 19, 1933 at the Cove Major's Cay, Crooked Island.

She was the second child of this union, she showed great potential but at an early age
she went deaf due to an illness. This did not stop Elfreda from reaching her full potential
as to her independence. She left her home in her early twenties to travel to Nassau and
mapped out her own future.

She took on several small jobs before she started to work for Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Pindling
the parents of the former Prime Minister of the Bahamas. She worked for them for more
than 30 years and was very much valued by them, she performed duties from housekeeping
to collecting rents from their properties. During that period she took on a second job working
as an office domestic worker for Doctor QS Richmond where she remained for over 40 years.

Mommy also supplemented her in come, by sewing and designing clothing for others from
the seventies until up to eight years ago. She reared four of her five children as a single
mother and was known as a firm disciplinarian. But she was also known to the grandchildren
as someone who never shows up empty handed there was always something in that bag for
everyone. She was also an avid church attendee and was a regular member of Mt. Carmel
Baptist Church for over 40 years.

In 2002 she went to live with her only daughter and was diagnosed shortly after with breast
cancer, in 2003 after going through five rounds of chemotherapy till 2017 when she succumbed.
