Dorothy Elizabeth Ferguson-Colebrooke Age: 71 Years of #67 Jacaranda Street,
Pinewood Gardens, completed her earthly walk of this life, at the Princess Margaret
Hospital on Wednesday, November 08, 2023.
She was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Friday, April 04, 1952.
She was baptized Dorothy Elizabeth and grew up in the Anglican Faith.
"Dee" as she was affectionately called completed her education at the Western Senior School
in Nassau. Dee loved to read and sought employment at the law firm of Kendal Isaacs & Co as
a legal secretary where she remained for several years. Following her employment in the legal
profession Dee was employed at several establishments as a secretary and salesclerk.
Dee was tall in stature and a humble, kind and loving individual. She had an endearing smile
that captured the attention of a young man named Alvin Colebrooke of Red Bays Andros and
on the 29th day of May 1982 Dee and Alvin were joined in holy matrimony. Shortly after her
marriage to Alvin, Dee became a housewife and entrepreneur.
Dee and Alvin raised three children Tyrone, Betty and Leonardo in a loving home and taught
them how to love and respect God, themselves and each other.
Dee and Alvin had a heart of gold and their love extended beyond their home to the less fortunate
within the community. Every year for at least 30 years during the Christmas Holidays Dee and Alvin
prepared a feast and on New Year's Day fed persons within the Englerston and Coconut Grove Communities.
Over the years Dee experienced health challenges and during the evening of Thursday the 19th
day of October 2023 she became ill and had to be hospitalized. During her time in hospital her
family visited and prayed with her reminding her to call on Jesus who was her comforter and healer.
On Monday the 6th day of November 2 days before her demise Dee reminded her family that Jesus
was her rock in the wary land a shelter in the time of storm and that she was trusting Him to heal her.
