Dion Timothy Kemp Age 48 Years of #214 Market Street,
delivered his final goods at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Sunday, May 04, 2025.
He was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Friday, May 07, 1976 to
Beverly Kemp and Timothy Edgecombe. After the passing of his mother,
Dion would go on to be cared for by his aunt Deborah Munnings, and his uncle,
Charles Munnings who was his active guardians throughout his young adult life.
In 1988, Dion attended Gambier Primary, where he stayed until transferring to H. O. Nash in 1994.
A man of many interests, Dion has had many service-based jobs throughout his life,
all of which expressed his deep desire to be of help to others. He has worked as a tradesman
in both construction and carpentry. From there he moved into working in household furnishing,
after which he transitioned to the tourism industry where he stayed for many years.
Dion always held the dream of owning his own business. This is something he made a reality
with opening Snack & Smack, a local convenience store where he served the Market Street community
for almost a decade. He later branched out and started another successful business, Dion's Trucking.
He thrived in these entrepreneurial endeavours and derived a great deal of joy from being his own boss.
Dion was always a caring, gentle, and loving man. These are the qualities that led his wife,
Tewana (Tia) Butler-Kemp, to fall in love with him. They met in October 1994. Shortly after,
they moved in with each other and have never left each other's side. They got married five years later
on March 27th, 1999, and through every season of their marriage, remained each other's closest friends.
The couple had a baby girl on August 5th, 1997. They named her Dion-Té Antoinette Havanna Kemp.
This was one of the proudest moments of Dion's life and he was a committed and present father to her
every day of his life. Dion-Té knew that there was nothing that she needed that her father would not provide.
On May 29th, 2023, Dion proudly walked his daughter down the aisle in celebration of marriage to his
phenomenal son-in-law, Dwayne Weston Carridice. He welcomed his grandson Dwayne Weston "Deuce"
Carridice, Jr. into the world on February 23rd, 2024. With each new chapter of his life as a family-centered man,
his heart expanded even further to welcome more love into his home.
Dion unexpectedly took ill on Saturday, April 05, 2025. It was discovered that he had an aneurysm within his
brain, that led to his hospitalization. He stayed in the Intensive Care Unit at the Princess Margaret Hospital
for 28 days. In the afternoon of Sunday, May 04, 2025, he passed peacefully from this life into the arms of
his Lord and Saviour. He will forever be missed.
