David Godfrey Major Age 61 Years of Sunshine Park, exchanged time for eternity at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

A Time to be Born:
He was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Monday, January 18, 1965. On a cold and beautiful winters day a beautiful baby boy was born to proud parents Captain Clifford and Sylvia Moss Major thanking God for this precious gift they named him David Godfrey. Being the sixth child David was a quiet and humble boy that was truly loved by everyone that met him.

A Time to Learn:
David's early education began at the then T. A. Thompson Primary School and later R. M. Bailey High School from which he graduated. David was a hard-working and ambitious young man that always found ways to make money from. shoe shining to, packing groceries, to window cleaning, he did it all in his teens. I can vividly recall David coming home from a good day as packing boy saying mammie we rich as he dumped that day's earnings onto her lap.

A time to Move:
In the early eighties David left home and went to Florida to broaden his horizons, there he met and fell in love with a beautiful girl named Maryann whom he made his wife. David and Maryann built a wonderful life together and was blessed with three beautiful children, David Jr, Daniel and India. David was a devoted husband and father and worked diligently to provide for his family. In the early 2000s, due to circumstances beyond his control David was deported from the United States back to the Bahamas. During David's time back home he encountered many trials but his greatest trauma was the tragic drowning of his eldest son David Jr. Heart-broken David was never the same but still tried is best to carry on.

A Time to Die:
On the first of March 2026 suffering from severe chest pains David was admitted to the princess Margaret hospital, during this time his condition worsen and on the 12th of March he was taken from his suffering to a place of eternal rest
