Christiana Augusta "Mama Ceva" Jones-Williams

December 26, 1916 — March 27, 2007

#12 Kenilworth Avenue, South Beach

Christiana Augusta "Mama Ceva" Jones-Williams Age 90 Years
was called home to be with the Lord, at her daughter's residence on
#12 Kenilworth Avenue, South Beach Estates on Tuesday, March 27, 2007.

Mama Ceva as she was known was born on Tuesday, December 26, 1916.
She grew up and attended the San Salvador All Age School.

On Monday, May 15, 1933 she married the late Rev. Samuel A. Williams.
That union was blessed with eight children, five sons and three daughters.

"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing". Christiana's love for the Lord
was unquestionable. She was a praying mother, God-fearing and was a
faithful Servant of Him for many years. She was a life member of the
St. John's Native Baptist Church, San Salvador, Bahamas

"Ceva" famed and took care of her children. The first job she had was
when she joined the National Insurance Board Local Office in San Salvador,
on Tuesday, May 01, 1979 as a part-time janitress and left in December 1992 when she retired.

During 2003, she was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital for
removal of cataract in her left eye to see if she would be able to see,
but it was unsuccessful. That did not bother her because she had perfect sight in her right eye.

Early 2006 she started complaining about her right eye. She attended many eye doctors
and medications were administered. In February 2007 she became totally blind.

On Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at about 6:00 am she woke her daughter Alma Storr
for prayers. Her songs were "What a Friend We Have In Jesus, My Hope Is Built
On Nothing Less and More About Jesus." Then she prayed.

Her last words to Sister Adline Thurston, was "The Consecrated Cross I'll bear
til death should set me free. Must Jesus bear the Cross alone and all the world
go free, no there's a Cross for everyone and there's a Cross for me."

Her last and final words to her granddaughter Mavis Forbes, with both
eyes closed were "Mae", as she affectionately called her, "That's you?
I ready to go." As she began calling on the name of the Lord, Mae said a
word of prayer. Minutes later she opened both eyes and looked at her and said, "Mae, I gone."
