Calvin Rudolph Walker

Sandy Point, Abaco

Calvin Rudolph "Slim" Walker Age 72 Years of Ficus Street, 
Pinewood Gardens and formerly of Sandy Point, Abaco, Bahamas
ended this walk of life, on Monday, April 28, 1997 at the
Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau, New Providence, the Bahamas.


Slim, born at Crossing Rock Abaco, The Bahamas on Friday, November 07, 1924.
He obtained his early education, at the Crossing Rock All-age School.
After the death of his mother, he moved to Nassau where he
resided with his uncle (Ritchie and Aunt Mae Johnson).


Upon completion of his education in Nassau, Calvin moved to
Sandy Point, Abaco, Bahamas and lived with his aunt, (Anita Bain).
It was there Calvin became fascinated with sea life and before long,
he was employed as a cook on the M/V Salomie. While at Sandy Point,
Calvin met and fell in love with the charming (Luceal Dames).
She became his bride on Sunday, May 01, 1956. This union was blessed with four children.


Calvin, was a devouted husband and father, who enjoyed
spending quality time with his family. He didn't send his children,
but took them to Church. He worshiped and served as Sexton of
Mt. Zion Native Baptist Church for many years. He was also a
member of the Sandy Point, Abaco Burial Society and served
as a Marshall and Centennial of the Prince Hall Mason Grand Lodge.


Calvin is preceded in death by his:
Father: Wilfred Walker;
Mother: Dorothy Walker

The Radiance of this "Topaz of A Gem" will always glow in the hearts of his:
Wife: Luceal;
Three Sons: Billy of San Salvador, Matthew of Nassau and Dwight of Florida;
Two Daughters: Dorothy Walker and Deaconess Stephanie Chisholm;
Seven Grand Children: Trevor Pinder, Reginald Chisholm, Jaquay Adderley,
Dyserio, Destiny, Matthew Jr. and Deshara Walker;

Brother: Melvin Walker of Moore's Island, Abaco, Bahamas;
Sister: Blossie Walker of Nassau;
Father-in-law: Rev. Samuel Sands;
Adopted Brother: Cyril Gardiner of Nassau;
Adopted Sister: Delores Pinder;
Son-in-law: Deacon Gregory Chisholm;
Two Daughters-in-law: Althea and Jennie Walker;
Sister-in-law: Miriam Dames of Bimini, Bahamas;
Six Nephews: Clifford, Dewill, Herman and Kelsie of Moore's Island, Abaco, Bahamas,
Errol and Anton of Bimini, Bahamas;
