sister Patricia who desperately wanted a sister.

As times grew increasing difficult for a single mother with 6 children Bridgette was raised by
her Mothers Cousin Carolyn Smith who took Bridgette to the island of Bimini.
She was so loved and cherished that she had two families and traversed between Nassau and Bimini.

Her early education began at the Bimini All Age School then onto Stephen Dillet.
Coming from the family of avet Seventh Day Adventist she went onto attend Bahamas Academy
where She graduated from. Being an industrious self-reliant young woman, she soon sought
employment at Her first job was at the Nassau Dunbrick, then Chicken Unlimited and later at
Stubbs Janitorial Services. She was Beryl's daughter and Beryl believed that all her children
should have a Government job. Bridgette was soon after hired by the Ministry of Health where
she started out as a maid at the Stephen Dillet Dental Clinic. She quickly became fascinated
with dentistry and wanted to become a part of the dental team.  She was encouraged by
Dr. Pickstock went back to school received her credentials and transferred from being a maid at

Bridgette was a beautiful warm Loving person. Her beauty and radiance caught the eye of a young man
named Alva "Eddie " Smith. They met While she was working at Stubbs Janitorial. They later married
in October 1996. A relationship spanning over 40 yrs. Bridgette was completely devoted and Loving
to her dear husband Eddie. Everything was Eddie. She did nothing or made any decision without
consulting Eddie. The virtuous women that the Bible speaks about is Bridgette.

Bridgette didn't have children but she cared deeply for her nieces and nephews. She nurtured them and
did whatever it took to support them. She was particularly fond of Rachea, Peaches, Khalia and Genero.

Bridgette was a quite gentle soul. You saw her but you rarely heard her speak. She was very reserved,
but extremely helpful and hardworking. If you encountered her and didn't know her you would say
this is a kind person, who really knows her work but she hardly said a word.

Bridgette never minced words for action she was all about doing, showing up giving her all.
No talking just doing. Someone who loved her family and supported in any which way she could.

Over the past few years Bridgette developed a condition where she was experiencing chest pains and
shortness of breath. On August 7th the pain became unbearable and she was admitted to hospital.
She was looking forward to coming home and said that she was feeling better. However, she took a
turn for the worst and went to her heavenly home.

Oh how the angels are singing and rejoicing as a saint has come home.

Bridgette leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, strength and commitment.

She will be sadly missed by her Loving husband, her mother, sisters, her brother nieces and nephews,
