Brian Jerome Lightbourne Age: 63 Years of #17 Cedar Terrace, Tall Pines Estates, off Gladstone Road
completed his final building, at his residence on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Brian was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Saturday, February 20, 1960.
"Bucket" as he was affectionately called started his early education at Woodcock Primary
and went on to attend H. O. Nash Jr. High and later down completed his adolescence at the
CC Sweeting Sr. High School.
At an early age Brian discovered his passion was working with his hands. Which led him into
the hospitality industry for a short while still not being the right fit. Following in his father's
footsteps he entered the construction field; where he found his calling and laid the foundation
for a trade he mastered. Starting from an entry level helper he worked his way well into the
construction arena to a contractor. Well respected in the community, this allowed him not only
to display his talents locally and throughout the Islands but also internationally. He worked for
companies such as Cavalier Construction, Mosco Construction, SMG, John Dunn Construction
and many more. His craftmanship was like none other. His work surely spoke for itself.
Brian was one that always had a love for family, one so humble and quiet found his spark with
the outgoing, cheerful, bright smiling Ann he affectionately called "Shortie". After 4 years of
courting the two became one on October 20th, 1984. Already having a daughter previously,
he completed his family with two more beautiful kids. Which blessed him with seven beautiful
grandchildren which affectionately called him "Buddy & Papa". Brian took his role as a father
and husband seriously and made certain that his family was loved, protected, and provided
their every need.
Brian always had a sweet tooth which gave him no other choice but to love baking. Every Christmas
the family would look forward to fruit cakes and other pastries. After entering retirement, he and
his grand girls would look forward to baking bread and different pastries on a weekly basis.
After suffering several heart attacks in 1999 this opened the door to heart disease. After partially
recovering, Brain tried his endeavor best to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, on Wednesday
May 17th,2023 noonday God opened His scroll and called him into glory. Brian's work here on
earth was completed. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest God surely
broke our hearts by taking the best.
