Brendalee Dianna Gray-Forbes Age: 57 Years of #18 Sunset Meadow Subdivision,
off Cowpen Road completed her final service at her residence on Thursday, October 01, 2020.
She was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Wednesday, December 19, 1962.
She was affectionately called "Bouncer" but should have been called 'Mirror' or 'Mini Thesrene'
for as much as she favoured her mother.
Brenda's early education began at Columbus Primary School and she transitioned on to
Donald Davis Junior High School and later graduated from C. C. Sweeting High School.
After graduating high school, Brenda's mother took her under her wings and introduced her
to the trade of being a Straw Vendor. She fell in love with the trade and was gainfully employed
at the Ambassador Beach Hotel as an entrepreneur. The Ambassador Beach Hotel went into
transition and led Brenda to seek employment at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Hotel, where she
worked in the Housekeeping Department for its inception in 1997 to 2013.
It was the early 1980s, Brendalee met the love of her life, and soulmate, Theodore Forbes Sr.
(predeceased), who later retired as Sergeant on the Royal Bahamas Police Force. Brendalee and
Theodore courted for a few years, and in the year of 1989 on December 23rd, the best friends
were united in Holy Matrimony. Together, they built a beautiful family, one that was almost inseparable.
This union, included 8 children, one of which predeceased her. Brendalee was more than friendly
to all she came in contact with and she was known to be kind and generous. She was a guardian
angel and motherly figure to many, as she would give her last to anyone who was in need.
She love to host gatherings and spend time with family and friends. Brendalee simply loved life
itself and had a strong, yet caring, personality. She made everyone felt her sincerity and generosity.
Brendalee love to travel and did lots of it! Spending time with her family and friends, enjoying
her favorite past time in her favorite places, like Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Ironically to this,
on Sundays, though in a challenging and incapacitated state, you could have found Brenda
visiting her favorite church, Life Changers Ministries International, where she fell in love with
Pastor Valentino Williams preaching style, until she first heard Pastor Cleopatra Williams preach.
And the rest, they say was history as she knew was surely a great place to call home.
It was on Thursday, October 1st 2020 that Brenda was called to a place of eternal (bliss).
The morning started with Brenda making her usual phone calls. She spoke with her sister Cindamae,
and told her she already said her goodbye and now she was going to take her rest. Cindame told her,
in a non-chalant way, try not to take your rest until I come to Nassau. Brendalee then made a phone
call to her mother and told her that was going to take a long, long, long rest. Her mother's last words
to Brendalee was, to make sure you enjoy your long, long, long rest. It was approximately at 6p.m.
that Brenda's cousin Marsha was engaging her in physical therapy that she noticed Brenda's legs
were extremely hot and this was when her son Stanford was sent to the pharmacy. It was during
this time, that Marsha witnessed Brenda take her last and final breath in her arms. Brenda fought
a resilient fight. She faced her challenges with vigor, and accepted her fate with courage. Brendalee
never really complained about her situation. When anyone would ask her how she was doing,
her favourite response always was "I am alright, I am going to be alright." She fought an eight-year
battle with enduring some of the most excruciating and agonizing pain, almost unbearable at times.
From 2012 until her demise. She was set free and delivered from an almost suffering state.
