Betty Delores Butler Age 81 #05 Zris Court, Yellow Elder #2 Secured her final time 
on earth on Sunday, June 10, 2018.


She was born on Saturday, October 10, 1936 at Nassau, New Providence, the Bahamas.
She was one of four children born to the late Ronald Butler and Muriel Munroe.


Betty began her early education at the Jordan Memorial Baptist School and graduated
at the age of 15 years. In an effort to better equip herself in her chosen career,
Betty enrolled at Industrial Training College (ITC), now (BTVI) and completed several
corresponding courses.


After graduation from Industrial Training College, she landed her first job at the Bahamas
Tobacco Company. She was also employed at the Nassau Yacht Club. In 1971 she was hired
at Finco, one of our leading banks in the Bahamas. She started as a messenger and worked
her way up to Senior Security Clerk. She retired in March of 2001 after working at Finco
for thirty one years.


Our mother, grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law was a faithful and devoted member of
the Bethel Baptist Church all of her life, were she was baptized under the pastorate of the
late Rev. Dr. H. W. Brown. This faithful child of God also served as Sunday School Teacher,
member of the Junior Choir, member of the Baptist Training Union, Secretary of Bethel's
Church Council for 17 years, Past President of Bethel's Willing Worker and Lieutenant in
the 2nd Nassau Company of the Girls Brigade.

Father: Ronald Butler;
Mother: Muriel Butler;
Brothers: Vernal and Rudolph Butler;

The Radiance of this "Opal of A Gem" will always glow in the hearts of her:
Three Daughters: Daphne Evans of Freeport Grand Bahama, Ingrid Kerkulah and Valerie Mckenzie;
Four Grandsons: Damian and Dorian McKenzie, Desmond (Shakeira) and Dexter Kerkulah;
One Granddaughter: De'Nia McKenzie;
One Sister: Barbara Butler;
One Great Granddaughter: Jahzara Kerkulah;
One Nephew: David Butler;
Four Nieces: Theresa Bonaby, Sandra and Doreen Darling and Natasha Johnson;
Two Sons-in-law: Francis Kerkulah and Patrick McKenzie;
Adopted Daughter: Elsie Moxey;
Cousins Including: Barbara, Everlyn, Calvin and Dwight Thompson, Sandy Randolph,
Bridgette and Brittany Peterson of Miami, Florida, Joan Knowles, Arlington (Crab) Brown,
Marsha Mason, Pandora Munroe and their families. The families of the late Maude Walker
of New York, the late Howard Munroe and the Late Menna Nicholls.

God-Daughter: Francine of Miami, Florida
Six Grandnephews: Claudell Johnson, Antharn (Kim) and Alexis (Marisol) Bonaby,
George and Jonathan Fawkes and Samuel Johnson;

Eight Grandnieces: Shonika, Stacy and Nyosha Bonaby, Georgina Sturrup (Shannon),
Shantell Fawkes, Rosita McKenzie, Joyclyn and Julie-Ann Johnson;

Numerous: Great Grand Nephews and Nieces;
Special Friends Including: Esther Winder-Storr, Mary and Joann Knowles, Livingston Evans,
Leon, Sheila and Martha Johnson, Mag Tynes, Ruby Strachan, Judy Huyler, Carnetta Williams
and their families and the Lundy family;

Other Loving Family and Friends Including: Pastor Timothy and Mrs. Sharon Stewart,
Officers and the entire membership of Bethel Baptist Church, Violet Storr, Ruth Bowe-Darville,
Freda Johnson, Douglas Messiah, Dereck Burrows and their families. Ms. Simmons, the Goodridge,
Seymour, McKenzie, Perpall and Rahming families, the Scott and Augusta Street families.
The Yellow Elder Community especially the neighbours of Zris Court and Melvern Road.
