Bennett Gregory "Ben" Roberts Sr. Age 80 Years of Hatchet Bay Eleuthera, The Bahamas
went home to be with his Lord, at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Friday, August 03, 2007.
He was born at Gregory Town Eleuthera, Bahamas on Saturday, April 09, 1927.
Daddy was an industrious and independent person. His success came from hard work and his good education.
Daddy worked tirelessly to give us, his children the best for this is what he always wanted for us, the BEST.
Daddy knew how to make us happy. He taught us many games from finger plays to field events.
Daddy was a man of reasoning. He was able to see thing from another's point of view,
but stood his ground still the same.
Daddy was a provider and cornerstone for his family. His absolute concern was for his children.
He reared us with good morals, to be productive citizens and to stand on our own two feet.
Daddy was always there for us, his children.
Ben knew the importance of having a good education. He impressed upon us the same.
He worked with us, his children day in and day out supporting us in this venture.
Daddy believed in perseverance. Summer vacation from school meant the beginning of
home schooling for us, his children. Daddy was the tutor. He would always say,
"Go get a book and read" or "let's do some math." We hated this but knew it had to be done.
Reading was his passion. His favorite genre was Western and World History. Daddy knew his history well.
He was an introvert, a behind the scene man but a real leader when he had to be.
He showed so many the way at his job at the slaughter house and didn't worry if
he never got credit for the business success, even though it was due him.
