Anthony Herbert "Tony" Munroe I

Anthony Herbert Munroe I Age: 72 Years of Flamingo Gardens, cool down his final vehicle, 
at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.

He was born at Nassau, New Providence, the Bahamas on Friday, June 11, 1948. 
He was affectionately known to all who knew and loved him as 'Tony'. 
He grew to be a charming, handsome and hardworking young man, that captured the hearts of 
many with his infectious smile and sense of humor.

Tony attended Eastern Senior School. After graduating high school, he was employed at 
Orange Crush Bottling Company. He then obtained employment at Taylor Industry, 
where he worked in the engineering department. He gained much experience, 
as he serviced many hotels and other prominent businesses all over the island. 
The Britannia Beach Hotel, was just one of the many establishments he gained experience to 
then go on to owning his own auto air conditioning repair shop.

Some years later Tony became certified as an AC Technician, and worked in this field for 
several years at various establishments. Tony was always an entrepreneur, and accomplished 
his lifelong dream when he became the proprietor of Munroe's Auto Air. 
He used his establishment to employ, mentor and financially uplift many in his family and neighborhood.

On Friday, March 25, 1983 Anthony and Marilyn, affectionately known as 'Debbie' were joined in holy matrimony. 
Debbie was the love of his life and lifelong companion, and blessed the marriage with three beautiful children, 
Anthonique (now deceased), Anthony Jr and Antonia. They joined their earlier siblings, Wendy and Michael 
(both now deceased), Yvette Ferguson, Tamita, Kirklyn and Lakeisha Munroe and Jamal Bosfield. 
He was blessed with numerous grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.

As he approached the tender retirement age of 65, Tony's health began to decline and he was 
forced into an unexpected retirement. The misfortune of losing his vision to cataracts and a large 
part of his mobility to varying other health issues rendered him bed ridden during the twilight of his life.

Due to the adverse culmination of his many health issues, Tony was hospitalized at the beginning 
of 2020 and again in the fall. During the dawn of 30th December, 2020, at the twilight hours, 
after a beautiful visit with his children, Tony gained his wings. He slipped into eternal peace, 
joining his children in the home of the Lord.
