Alvin Arthur "Bonefish" Colebrooke Age 73 Years of #67 Jacaranda Street,
Pinewood Gardens, cooked his final dish, at his residence on Saturday, August 22, 2020.
Alvin was born at Red Bays North Andros, the Bahamas on Sunday, September 29, 1946.
He was the fifth child.
Alvin as he was affectionately called received his early education at the
Red Bays All Age School and upon completion travelled to Nassau to seek employment.
Alvin worked in the sponging and construction industries before obtaining employment as a chef.
He was employed at the Nassau Beach Hotel first as a dishwasher before being promoted to a
Pastry Chef and Chef. He enjoyed his new career and spent 35 years in the Hotel Industry before retiring.
Alvin was tall in stature, he was humble, kind and was one way all the time.
He was an endearing individual who was loved by persons who met him.
Sometime in 1973 Alvin met and fell in love with a young lady named
Dorothy Elizabeth (Dee) and in 1982 they were joined in holy matrimony.
Dee and Alvin raised three children Tyrone, Betty and Leonardo in a loving home.
Alvin provided for his family and was the epitome of a good husband and father.
In 2011 Alvin moved back to Andros to enjoy his retirement. However,
it was not long after his move to Andros that his health began to fail him.
The regular commute to Nassau to receive medical treatment became taxing
on him financially and otherwise resulting in Alvin having to move back to New Providence in 2018.
Despite the challenges that came with his health and medical treatment
Alvin never complained. He was a fighter and his shield was the full amour of God.
Alvin's relationship with God allowed him to withstand the test of time.
"Alvin had fought a good fight … his battle was over".
