Agatha Aileen Ferguson-Minus

June 27, 1962 — February 12, 2024

369 Pyfrom Road, off Mackey Street

Retired Guidance Counselor Agatha Aileen Ferguson-Minus Age: 61 Years of #71 Pyfrom Road,
off Mackey Street gave her final counsel and guidance, at the family residence #4 Lakeside Drive,
Yamacraw Beach Estates on Monday, February 12, 2024.

Agatha was born at Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas on Wednesday, June 27, 1962.
She was the fourth and last child of the union of the late Avery Evans Ferguson,
a former Assistant Commissioner of Police and the late Maria Elsaida Ferguson,
a former veteran educator and Primary School Principal. Agatha was closely attached
to her mother and proudly accompanied her throughout her primary school years
to such schools as Claridge Road and Mable Walker Primary. Agatha eventually,
confidently stepped upward to complete her schooling at Queen's College High School,
where she graduated with honours. She finally went on to further her education at
Tuskegee University, Tuskegee Alabama, where she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Social Work.

After completing her studies abroad, Agatha followed in the footsteps of all other females
in her family by joining the work force at The Ministry of Education, then located on
Shirley Street as a Social Work School Guidance Counsellor. Agatha found great satisfaction
in giving counsel and guidance to both troubled students as well as parents. Within her years
as a school counselor, she was posted at such schools as A. F Adderley Junior High,
L. W. Young Junior High, Centerville Primary and was later appointed to Palmdale Primary School,
where she was located at the time of her retirement. Within her tenure, she was a mentor to many students,
exhibiting a genuine care for student behavioural adjustment and academic achievements in school.
Her care and concern for students' achievements many times required meeting and counseling with parents,
for the student's welfare within their home-life.

Agatha, traveled briefly down the road of marriage. Never having become a mother, herself,
Agatha's love, care, and compassionate concern even more so abounded toward the love,
care and compassionate concern for the welfare of her pubescent, adolescent students.
She then, as is quoted in The Bible, being unmarried again, and not by her own choice,
was completely able to focus on how she might please The Lord, for Agatha was well known,
by all who knew her, for her strong and unbreakable relationship with her God.

Agatha, having experienced a marked deterioration in her health, finally decided to seek medical
assistance in August, 2023. She was diagnosed with cancer of the womb, which she valiantly fought
during the following months, having been hospitalized on two occasions during this time period.
Sadly, on Monday, 12 February 2024, God mercifully called her home, out of her suffering,
into her well-earned eternal rest. We, her family, will always remember Agatha as an elegant,
joyful, generous, caring, loving person. She was an enthusiastic mentor to her students,
being a strong motivator for their achievement. She valued education, hard work,
educational opportunities, and personal management achievement for herself and also for others.
She had high standards and lived a life in which she exemplified Godly principles.
She will be dearly missed. Those of us in Christ, saddened by her departure, are peacefully comforted
by the knowledge that she has joined with the saints in that better place and we expectantly look
forward to that glad reunion day with her in that land of everlasting glory.
May her soul continually rest in His peace!
